With many thanks to Conny and Erna for this funny Story . We love you for that. Brigitte and Dirk.

Dortmund 23-02-2008

Two years after our HIM adverture in Essen Erna and I decided to see HIM again in Germany. In Dortmund in der Westfalenhalle. We hopend to see Dirk and Birgitte again but they took their trip to Mannheim. A bit to far for us, since we are from Holland.

Saturday morning we traveled from Deventer to Germany. I like driving in Germany, the only place were you are aloud to drive over 150 km/hour. With a pile of HIM cd's with us we were comming in the mood for the concert. We booked a nice hotel in de city centre and we were hoping HIM was staying there too... LOL. Stupid of us to think those guys go to sleep. They only live and don't need sleep.

At 2 we were in our hotel and put our stuff in the room and went to see the city.

I thought a lot of HIM fans were already there as we saw a lot of 'nice looking dark ppl'

Dortmund is a huge city, and we were surprised to see so many big kaufhouses. Back in the bar of our hotel we met Freddy. And old man who had seen everything in the world. It was great to hear his stories and he was very interested in our story about HIM too. He seem a man of the world who stays young at heart. Funny enough we talked German the whole time. Why I write English now is because its better then my German I think.

Well after a few glasses of wine and a good Italian meal we went to the Westfalenhalle... jees so huge. The place wasn't cosy, that was a pitty. It was sold out it was very crowded.

The support act was Paradise Lost. Great band as well.

We didnt had to wait so long for HIM came on stage - time flies when you have fun. I dont remember the song they started with.. hm.. should I? It was such a great concert en Ville was really in the mood. He sung really good and the interaction with the public was great. He talked a lot to the audience, unfortunately we couldnt hear everything because of his nice dark voice with american accent, but what the hell. It was super!

They played at least 2 hours and the audience was very enthousiastic. It could have lasted another 2 hours... I wouldnt mind.

It all went to fast and after an hour we all went with the U-bahn to the city centre.

Ofcouse whe had to taste a little of the nightlife of Dortmund, hoping Ville and his crew would do the same. Hehe.. We met a lot of ppl but not HIM. So after a few hours in a bier stube, we went to our hotel and we didnt sleep of the excitment.

De the next day all seem so 'back to normal' again and after a huge Italian tost we drove back to Holland. It was a great weekend which we will never forget. Germany is a good place for a HIM gig and we hope he will return there soon. We are sure we go back again.
